Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease impacting around 950,000 US adults. Patients with UC often struggle with symptom management and navigating treatments, affecting their quality of life. Our project aimed to foster meaningful conversations between healthcare providers (HCPs) and patients, improving decision-making and personalizing care.
We designed an innovative digital tool to promote engaging and constructive dialogue between patients and doctors. By supporting shared decision-making and providing accurate information, we sought to empower patients, increase their confidence in managing their health journey, and enhance overall well-being. Collaborating with HCPs, patients, and caregivers, we designed a user-friendly tool catering to the needs of both patients and HCPs, facilitating deeper conversations and more tailored care.

Our primary focus was to create an intuitive interface that enables users to easily access necessary information and understand the tool's functionalities. Through extensive brainstorming sessions, we explored various styles and concepts to develop a visually appealing and user-friendly design.
During this process, we differentiated the tool from typical pharmaceutical websites by incorporating a fresh and engaging aesthetic. By applying UX best practices and prioritizing user needs, we experimented with different layouts, typography, and color schemes. The outcome is a visually captivating design that allows users to effortlessly navigate the platform, enhancing their ulcerative colitis management experience.

After selecting the illustration-based concept, we worked closely with the brand and development teams to ensure the platform's look and feel aligned with the brand's identity. Through collaboration with developers, we refined animations and interactions to create a smooth and engaging user experience.
The final design offers a unique and visually appealing interface that stands out from competitors, successfully translating the brand's vision while providing an enjoyable and informative platform for users managing ulcerative colitis.
